HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The November 11, 2014 meeting minutes of the Murray Village Board are now posted. Click the 'Village Office' tab above to read the latest.
DOING GOOD.....

The Holy Stitchers are a group of approximately fourteen who meet once or twice a month to sew items to be donated to local, as well as overseas, organizations. They make laundry and tote bags for the homeless, quilts and baby gowns for the newborns, as well as hats, dolls, diaper bags and walker bags, to name a few. This group is all volunteer and uses donations to make their items. At the meeting on November 18, the club presented a check for $250.00 to the Holy Stitchers.

HOLIDAY MAIL for HEROES
Okay, you're busy. It's the holiday season. Ask your friends to each pick up a box of Christmas cards, put on a pot of coffee, get out the cookies, and sit around the table writing out cards for our military personnel. This would be a great thing for your club or organization to do, too. The cards need to be in Lincoln by December 8, so plan to mail them a couple of days before that. Have fun and help brighten our heroes' holiday season!

Grades 5 thru 11 girls' tournament leagues also offered. Both affiliated with the Conestoga Cougars Volleyball Club with practices held in Murray or Nehawka.
Please call Theresa at (402) 651-6068 for registration information.

MURRAY 4th of JULY CELEBRATION PLANNING
The officers for the 4th of July Planning Committee have been elected.
We are excitedly gathering more ideas to keep moving onward and upward in our annual tradition!
Mark your calendars for the next meeting which will be held on
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2014,
6:30 p.m.
MURRAY TOWN HALL.
Everyone's welcome! We'd be very interested in hearing your ideas!
COOKBOOKS MAKE GREAT CHRISTMAS GIFTS!
The Cadettes from the Conestoga Girl Scout Troop have compiled a wonderful collection of recipes for their new cookbook,
"Cooking Together, Spirit of Nebraska".
There are nearly 300 recipes submitted by over 50 contributors and the cost is only $12 per cookbook.
Pick up a copy of this great cookbook at Murray State Bank and make someone on your gift list very happy - maybe even someone who lives out-of-state! Send a gift from our state of Nebraska! (Our local Girl Scouts will be happy, too, that you've supported them!)
Or you may contact the troop or one of the leaders, Debbie South, 402-235-3837 or Kim Colvert, 402-594-3067 at Troop40201@outlook.com.
Thanks for your support!

Do you want to help kids in our area have a bright Christmas? You may donate new, unwrapped toys in the large TOYS for TOTS box located in the lobby of the Murray State Bank and at Murray Building and Supply.
Right now, jot down a couple of extra toys on your list for when you do your 'Black Friday' shopping, then stop by either location and drop them in the box.
A member of the U.S. Marine Corps will be picking up the filled box on December 2.
The children thank you!

"CHRISTMAS BELLES" KICKS OFF HOLIDAY SEASON
at the
LOFTE THEATRE
The Lofte Community Theatre will usher in the holiday season on Saturday, December 6 with the hilarious family comedy, "Christmas Belles." Written by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten, "Belles" is the story of three squabbling southern sisters trying to pull-off their church's Christmas program.
Poor suffering Frankie is pregnant with twins and weeks past her due date. Hot-flash suffering Honey Rae is trying to keep the Tabernacle of the Lamb's Christmas program from spiraling out of control and middle-sister, Twink, is in jail for inadvertently setting the town on fire. Their hilarious holiday journey through a misadventure-filled Christmas Eve is guaranteed to bring joy to your world! If you saw the Lofte's first season production, "Dearly Beloved," you will recognize many of the same colorful characters in this sequel.
Directed by Kevin Colbert, the play features Keri Hogue of Elmwood, Shari Hoelker of Omaha and Wendy Allen of Plattsmouth as the three, always dramatic, Futrelle sisters. The production also showcases the talents of Randy Wallace and Doug Rothgeb of Omaha, Ross Mumford and Ken Snyder of Elmwood, Kirsten Wood and Melinda Mead of Plattsmouth, Betty Colbert of Weeping Water and Alyssa DiPaolo of Lincoln.
"Christmas Belles," runs December 6, 7, 12-14 and 19-21. Friday and Saturday night curtain times are 7:30pm. All Sunday performances are 2pm matinees. Tickets are $19,
but there are special reduced rates for groups of 20 or more. Call the box office at (402) 234-2553 to make reservations.
