SCHWAN'S ICE CREAM FUNDRAISER

The Murray Presbyterian Deacons, under the name of "Mighty Murray Small Church", are raising funds to be donated to the Lori Williams family of Murray, NE.  Lori was paralyzed due to an accident several months ago and now her family is under mounting financial stress.  Lori's family  will receive 20% of orders now through October 2, 2014  and, after October 2, will receive 5% for one year.

To order online, you must enter www.schwans-cares.com/f/32144 .  Go to 'Shop Now' and an online catalog, with the name 'Sherrill Konfrst', (church deacon),  will be presented to you.

If you would like to place your order over the phone, please call1-855-870-7208 and use fundraiser ID # 32144.

If you live in the U.S. and have local Schwan's delivery, you may participate in this worthy cause.  A Schwan's delivery person will deliver your products directly to your home and you'll be helping Lori and her family!  Feel free to forward this to your friends across the country!

Please direct any questions you might have to Sherrill at 402-235-2844.

Lofte Theatre

HITCHCOCK-BASED, "WRONG WINDOW!"

to OPEN at

LOFTE THEATRE

The hilarious Hitchcock-inspired farce, " Wrong Window!" will open on the Lofte Community Theatre's stage on October 11. The script is written by the successful writing team of VanZandt and Milmore whose other works include "Love, Sex and the I.R.S.," and "Suitehearts."

New York couple Marnie and Jeff think their neighbor has killed his wife. However, the woman's body soon disappears and the bumbling witnesses sneak into the cross-courtyard apartment to solve the mystery. In all, there are over 30 script references to the works and characters in Alfred Hitchcock films. Can you spot them all?

The production is directed by and stars Kevin Colbert as Jeff. His wife Marnie is played by Brandy Palatas of Papillion. Rounding out the cast are Scott Pope and Scott Nielsen of Eagle, Melinda Mead of Plattsmouth, John Bell and Ken Patry of Omaha, and Jeff Johnston and Ken Snyder of Elmwood. Alyssa DiPaolo of Lincoln gives a stunning performance as the dead body.

Performance dates for "Wrong Window!" are October 11, 12, 17-19 and 24-26. Friday and Saturday curtain times are at 7:30pm. All Sunday performances are 2pm matinees. Tickets are $19 and reservations can be made by calling the box office at 402-234-2553. The Lofte Community Theatre is located just east of Hwy 50 near the town of Manley.

FIDDLING BEE

Greenblatt & Seay proudly announce the Eighteenth ANNUAL SCHOOLHOUSE FIDDLING BEE.  This historical, hysterical event will take place on Sunday, October 12, at 2:30 PM, downstairs in the Old Avoca, Nebraska Schoolhouse.  In the Open Division, fiddlers will play a hoedown, a waltz, and a tune of choice.  There will also be other divisions of competition available for the adventurous fiddlers, including a Singing Fiddler's Contest, a Twin Fiddler's Contest, a Fee-Fi-Faux Fiddler's Contest (fiddle tunes played on any instrument other than a fiddle), and a Hocus-Pocus Contest (cross-tuning, sound effects, dancing, etc.), which will give fiddlers an opportunity to play tunes that are usually not allowed in any other contest.

Contestants can pre-register on line (http://www.greenblattandseay.com/schoolhouse_fiddling_bee_preregistration.shtml).

Admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students, and $1.00 for children.  Fiddlers and their back-ups are admitted for free.  The contest will be followed by a light snack and an acoustic jam session.
