The Cass County Fair is just around the corner, August 5 - 9.   Please send your favorite photos of anything fun you see at the fair and we'll post them here.  Make sure you have permission from anyone in your photo first.  See instructions at the bottom of the Newsletter on how to submit your articles.

We'd like photos of 4-H exhibits, contests, animals, rides, etc.  It's all fun, so why not share?

On Tuesday evening, July 29, 2014, the 4th of July committee held an open meeting for those interested in continuing the Murray celebration. The gathering consisted, not only of Murray residents, but  people from Omaha and Beaver Lake attended, as well. They expressed how much they enjoyed attending the celebrations each year in a small town atmosphere. After much positive discussion, it seemed that another meeting should be held for further planning. I left there feeling very hopeful that our patriotic spirit will continue to be celebrated in a big way, at least for a few years to come, right here as it's been for over 40 years.  

Please, if you have enjoyed the 4th of July celebrations in Murray in the past, post a note on your calendar to attend the next meeting on  

Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Town Hall, 6 pm. 

You do not have to be a Murray resident to attend. Jot down any ideas you might have or any skills you would be willing to share to help organize the next celebration. Are you good with kids and want to help with a kids' activity, do you have food service skills to work concessions for a shift, would you be willing to referee an oozeball game or two or be a judge at a contest? Maybe you're good at fundraising and would be willing to share your talents in doing that. If you're willing to do any physical labor in setting up stands, etc., we'd sure appreciate your help and any help, whether a little or a lot, will certainly be appreciated.

Don't think, 'they have enough help and they don't need me'. You're wrong! WE NEED YOU to help make this work!  See you at the next meeting!

CONESTOGA PUBLIC SCHOOLS is accepting applications for teacher assistant positions (7 1/2 hours per day), food service baker (7 1/2 hr), food service dishwasher (3hr), and food service prep/serving (7 1/2hr). Wages are dependent upon qualifications and experience of successful applicant. All are 9-month positions. Conestoga Schools operates on a 4-day-week. Positions will begin on or about August 12, 2014. Applications are available at the Conestoga District Office or online at www.conestogacougars.org (about Conestoga).
