 WHISKY FRISKY

Whisky, frisky,
Hippity hop,
Up he goes
To the tree top!

Whirly, twirly,
Round and round,
Down he scampers
To the ground!

Furly, curly,
What a tail!
Tall as a feather,
Broad as a sail!

Where's his supper?
In the shell,
Snappity, crackity,
Out it fell!

MURRAY  VFD PANCAKE FEED

A sparkling blue sky, bright sun and moderate temps helped bring out lots of pancake connoisseurs to the Murray Volunteer Fire Department's annual 4th of July fundraiser.

The hungry line stretched from the entrance of the fire house to the edge of Highway 1 and up the hill to the east along the shoulder of the road.

Sizzling hot sausage, warm pancakes, fruit cups, coffee and juice were all served up with a smile from volunteers.

Word is it was the largest crowd they'd ever had after about 30 consecutive years of hosting the event!

Thanks for your support of the MVFD!!

Oozeball, bingo, raffles, a street dance and many more activities took place around town with an enormous fireworks display rounding out the fun.

If you have any photos from any of these activities, please send them here so we can post them.

LOFTE COMMUNITY THEATRE AUDITIONS

The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces that it will be holding open auditions for

'THE BOYS NEXT DOOR'

at 7pm on Monday, July 22 and Tuesday, July 23.

'Boys,' is a very funny yet very touching play that focuses on the lives of four special needs men  who live in a communal residence under the watchful eye of their social worker.

Artistic Director Kevin Colbert notes that the script is designed so that 6 of the supporting rolesmay be played by one actress and one actor.  However, if we have enough auditionees, the castmay be doubled.  Also the script suggests that the role of Lucian be an African American.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.  Rehearsals will begin in late July.

Performances will run weekends August 31-September 15.

Those auditioning should bring a list of possible schedule conflicts.

Questions about auditions or the production itself may be directed to Kevin Colbert at 402-234-2553.
