YESTERDAY and TODAY!

AT the LOFTE THEATRE

2013-03-27 Yesterday__Today

The British are coming!  The British are coming!  The Lofte Community Theatre in Manley announces the production, "Yesterday and Today!" will be on the Lofte stage Saturday, April 20 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 21 at 2pm.   Tribute artist and Nebraska native, Billy McGuigan will lead the interactive Beatles experience.  In this electrifying show, audiences create the playlist so each performance is fresh and unique.  There are no costumes or wigs; just great music in a wonderfully beautiful setting.
Each show is totally unique.  Audience members fill out request cards for their favorite Beatles tune.  When a request card is selected, the band asks that person to explain why that particular Beatles tune is special to them.  This is a wonderfully fun and memorable experience for all!
"Yesterday and Today" has run for sold-out crowds several times in Omaha and we're proud to bring this popular show to Cass County.  Showtime is 7:30pm on Saturday, April 20 and 2pm on Sunday, April 21.  All seats are reserved and cost $30.
The Lofte Theatre is located just east of the village of Manley.  If you have any questions or wish to purchase tickets, please call the box office at (402) 234-2553.

graphics-noahs-ark-316385

On Sunday, April 14, at 2:30 PM, Greenblatt & Seay presents their original mini-musical,

"Noah's Ark"

"Noah's Ark" is a lively adaptation of the story of Noah and the great flood. This unique Greenblatt & Seay production explores the fate of the humans and other animals on the ark, from the day they boarded, to the day they disembarked. The words, by David Seay, examine the relationships between the inhabitants of the ark, and how they managed to survive from one unpredictable day to the next. The music, by Deborah Greenblatt, suggests many of the globes great musical traditions, such as blues, Cajun, calypso, Klezmer, a "Gilbert & Sullivan"-style jig, a tango, and even a round. Greenblatt & Seay & Friends will be singing and playing a variety of instruments during the performance, including a 5-string fiddle, harmonica, guitar, tiple, bouzouki.

The concert will be downstairs in the Old Avoca Schoolhouse, and followed by light refreshments, and a chance to chat and even jam with the performers. Avoca is in southern Cass County, Nebraska, on the 13 C Spur, one mile south of Highway 34. Admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for students and senior citizens, and $1.00 for children. Seating is limited. For more information, write to Greenblatt & Seay, The Old Schoolhouse, P.O. Box 671, Avoca, Nebraska, 68307, e-maildebby@greenblattandseay.com or call 402-275-3221.

The historic Old Avoca Schoolhouse was built in 1925, and has been the home of the Schoolhouse Performance Series since 1990. Music lessons, workshops, fiddle camps, and field trips are offered by Schoolhouse residents, Greenblatt & Seay, and are available by appointment.
