Cass County Fair 4-H Auction Supporters (family, friends, businesses, alumni) are invited to show support for Cass County 4-Hers by attending one of two 4-H auctions held during
the Cass County Fair.

The 4-H cake auction starts at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening August 7, at the open air auditorium on the Cass County fairgrounds.  It provides an opportunity to purchase fancy or decorated cakes, pies, and/or specialty breads baked and decorated by 4-H members.  The proceeds of this event will be divided between the participating 4-Her and the Cass County 4-H Council.  4-H Council funds raised at this event help sponsor activities for 4-H members throughout the year.  Auction supporters are invited to stay for the Fashion Show/Awards program following the auction.  A Sneak Peek and Refreshments will be held for everyone at the 4-H Building following this event.

The 4-H Livestock Auction starts at 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, August 12, in the livestock barn.  Livestock judging awards will be presented to the 4-Hers before the auction at 2:45 p.m.   The Cass County 4-H Council clerks this premium sale which is held for market animals only.  Each exhibitor is allowed to sell one animal of each species as premium only, meaning dollars per head not cents per pound.  Exhibitors retaining ownership will only receive the premium from the sale.  Exhibitors of shipped animals will receive the premium from the buyer in addition to the sale proceeds from the buyer of the animal.

Bring Hope to Patients in Need

by

Donating Blood

through the

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross is calling on all eligible blood donors to roll up a sleeve and help save a life by making an appointment to donate blood. During the summer, when blood donations tend to slow, eligible blood donors are needed even more. Giving one hour of your time can give patients extra days, months or even years with their family and friends. To a patient, time is everything – time to laugh, time to live and time to love.  The need is constant. The simple act of donating blood can bring hope for patients in need and their families. All blood types are needed, but especially O positive, O negative, B negative and  A negative in order to meet patient demand. Please schedule an appointment to donate blood today.

The American Red Cross’ Live Life. Give Life. summer-long campaign is helping to raise awareness about the constant need for blood and encourage regular donations.

Visit redcrossblood.org/GiveWin to learn more.

 How to Donate Blood

Simply call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license, or two other forms of identification are required at check-in.  Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

UPCOMING BLOOD DONATION OPPORTUNITIES:
