It foretells a Winter hard and dry.

Fuel the Blood Supply
and possibly win one of three $500 gas cards!
As blood donors get ready to head out on the road for the last long holiday weekend of summer, their cars’ gas tanks aren’t the only ones that need refueling. American Red Cross typically experiences a dip in blood donations before and after the Labor Day holiday weekend and wants to thank eligible donors who help refuel the blood supply in Nebraska. August 29 through September 7 all presenting donors in the Midwest Blood Services Region are eligible to win one of three $500 gas cards.
American Red Cross blood supplies remain at seriously low levels even after thousands
of area residents responded to the national appeal for blood donors.
With the recent heat wave, the Red Cross has seen an even bigger decline in the number
of blood donors. The heat-related issues have forced the Red Cross to close blood drives
early or cancel blood drives altogether, resulting in the cancellation of hundreds of scheduled
blood donations.
Therefore, the Red Cross needs blood and platelet donors now more than ever. All blood
types are needed, but especially O negative, B negative and A negative.
Together we can help save lives.
