Join 4-H families from all across Cass County for an afternoon of recognition, great food and fun at the annual 4-H Achievement Party on Sunday, November 7, 3 to 5 p.m. in the Expo Building on the Cass County fairgrounds.
Meat and beverages are provided.
Each family attending should bring a salad or dessert and a non-perishable food item(s) for the food pantry.
This event is sponsored by the Cass County Bankers Association
and the Cass County 4-H Council.
Non 4-H families are welcome -- this is a good way to see what 4-H is all about.
No reservation required.
Dress is casual.

FREE VETERANS DAY SALUTE at the LOFTE
The Lofte Community Theatre near Manley announces that for the fourth consecutive year, it will hold a free public concert in honor of Veterans Day.
With their extensive repertoire of specially tailored standards, energetic favorites and Big Band classics, highlighted by instrumental and vocal soloists, The Noteables is sure to please audiences of any age. The seventeen-member group has appeared in concert and on national television with Bob Hope, jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew, composer/arranger Frank Mantooth, former Tonight Show
band leader Doc Severinsen, pop singer Lee Greenwood and trombonist Wycliffe Gordon.
The Noteables honorably represent more than 325,000 Air Force professionals around the world who diligently watch over the skies protecting and defending all those who cherish freedom. Wehope you afford us the opportunity to share the messages of excellence, sacrifice, courage andcommitment of our brave men and women...the deployed Airmen of the United States Air Force.
This concert is free and open to the public.

The first time you vote you will need to enter all the information -

Greenblatt & Seay's next Schoolhouse Performance Series will feature
"Wedding Music You Should and Shouldn't Invite to Your Wedding".

Greenblatt & Seay and a small ensemble of Schoolhouse Music Students will share some wedding classics by Handel, Pachelbel, Mendelssohn, etc. The performance will also feature some songs that should never be played at weddings (i.e. "Beware Young Ladies", "The Mother-in-Law Song", "Hit the Road, Jack", etc.).
The concert will be followed by light refreshments, and a chance to chat and jam with the performers.
Admission is $5.00 for adults, and $1.00 for children and students.

The historic Old Avoca Schoolhouse was built in 1925, and has been the home of the Schoolhouse Performance Series since 1990. Music lessons, workshops, fiddle camps, and field trips are offered by Schoolhouse residents, Greenblatt & Seay, and are available by appointment.
Avoca is in southern Cass County, Nebraska, on the 13 C Spur, one mile south of Highway 34.

SCHOOLHOUSE FIDDLE WORKSHOP

FOLKS WHO HAVE NEVER FIDDLED
For folks who have never played a fiddle or violin, and are brave enough to try, come to the Schoolhouse Fiddle Workshop for Folks Who Have Never Fiddled. Championship fiddler and fiddle book author, Deborah Greenblatt, will share some hints about beginning fiddling, shopping for a fiddle, reading music, playing by ear, etc.
Fiddles will be available for participants to play, and source lists and advice for further study will be provided.
The Workshop takes place on Saturday, November 20, 2010, 1 PM - 3 PM, in the
Old Avoca Schoolhouse, Avoca, Nebraska.
