VILLAGE OF MURRAY, NEBRASKA

August 12, 2014

 

The Murray, Nebraska Board of Trustees met in regular session on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at 7:00 pm in the Murray Municipal Building. Present: Trustees: Debbie Newhouse, Bill Johnson, George Blessing, Stan Flak; Absent: Mike Gillott; Village Clerk Eileen Murdoch; attending: guests.

Notice of the meeting was given in advance thereof by posting in (3) three public places as shown by the certificate attached to these minutes. Notice of the meeting was simultaneously given to the Chairman and all members of the Board of Trustees. Their acknowledgement of receipt of notice and agenda is attached to these minutes. All proceedings thereafter were taken while the convened meeting was open to the attendance of the public.

Chairman Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM and informed the audience of the location of the open meetings act poster.

Stanley Flak read the Oath of Office for Board Trustee.

Motion by Newhouse, seconded by Blessing to approve the minutes of the July 8, 2014, regular meeting; ayes: Johnson, Newhouse, Blessing, Flak; Absent: Gillott, motion carried.

Motion by Newhouse, seconded by Blessing to acknowledge receipt of the Treasurer's report; ayes: Johnson, Newhouse, Blessing, Flak; Absent: Gillott, motion carried.

Motion by Newhouse, seconded by Flak to approve claims as revised; ayes: Johnson, Newhouse, Blessing, Flak; Absent: Gillott, motion carried.

Maintenance Report.

Approve SENDD Annual membership dues. Trustee Flak asked if we had ever used SENDD for anything. Chairman Johnson said we did years ago, they help you work on projects for grants and things. Motion by Blessing, seconded by Flak to pay SENDD dues in the amount of $394, and $139 for housing; ayes: Johnson, Newhouse, Blessing, Flak; Absent: Gillott, motion carried.

Kyle Siedlik, Crouch Recreation, review plans. Siedlik was not in attendance.

Andy Harpenau, Project Harvest Cooperative compost opportunity. Motion by Blessing, seconded by Newhouse to approve the partnership with Project Harvest; ayes: Johnson, Newhouse, Blessing, Flak; Absent: Gillott, motion carried.

Jack Prall, 4th of July Committee/Celebration.

Review proposed Ordinance for Murray burn site. .

Review proposal for video options at the burn site.

Review new copier/printer/scanner proposal. Motion by Newhouse, seconded by Blessing to accept the proposal for a new copier; ayes: Johnson, Newhouse, Blessing, Flak; Absent: Gillott, motion carried.

Discuss possible appointment of Personnel Liaison.

Discuss/appoint Emergency Manager Coordinator/Contact.

Review applications for part-time maintenance; fill vacancy, set salary. Motion by Blessing seconded by Flak to hire Jerome Speck as part-time maintenance for a maximum of 40 hours a month at $11.50 per hour; ayes: Johnson, Blessing, Flak; Nays: Newhouse; Absent: Gillott.

Motion by Blessing, seconded by Johnson to adjourn the meeting at 8:52 PM; ayes: Johnson, Newhouse, Blessing, Flak; Absent: Gillott; motion carried.

I, the undersigned Village Clerk of the Village of Murray, Nebraska, hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of proceedings had and done by the Chairperson and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Murray to the best of my knowledge; that the agenda was kept continually current and available for public inspection at the office of the Village Clerk; that the minutes were in written form and available for public inspection within (10) working days and prior to the next convened meeting of said body; the minutes are published in summary form, upon request a complete copy is available at the Village Office.
