2019 12 04 Pearl Harbor 1941

Pearl Harbor Day, is observed in the United States on December 7, each year, to honor and remember the 2,403 citizens of the United States who were killed in the Japanese surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on that day in 1941.

In 1994, the United States Congress, designated December 7 of each year as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.  President Bill Clinton issued a proclamation declaring December 7 that same year the first National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.  Although not a federal holiday, it's an important day to commemorate.

Take a minute this Saturday, to remember and talk to your kids about Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
